Welcome to the #emptyfridgechallenge linkup party. An opportunity to take part in reducing food waste and using up those stockpiles of red kidney beans and super noodles that you bought “because they were on offer”!!
This is my first attempt at a linkup party so I do hope at least one person joins me!
The aims of the challenge
- To use up your stockpiles and reduce food waste
- To not purchase large quantities of groceries until the fridge/freezer or cupboards are depleted (milk, bread or the odd ingredient to add to food you already have is fine! Use a 1-in 1-out policy!)
- Find new and inventive ways of using up those stray ingredients we all have hanging around the kitchen – whether it’s the frozen meals that have lost their labels or the jar of dried chickpeas from when you imagined you’d be making fresh hummus every day
The rules of the linkup
- The linkup party will run from Sunday 28 September until Friday 10 October, giving a good week or so to craft your recipes and post them up
- If using twitter please include the hashtag #emptyfridgechallenge so we can take part on there as well!
- Please do visit and comment on at least 2 other peoples’ blogs – share the love!
- You can post up more than one blog post relating to the challenge – in fact the more posts the better.
- If you fancy posting a photo of your fridge or freezer please do!
